Global Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. A patent related to the electronic transport layer by South Korean company Solus Advanced Materials has been ruled invalid.  

2. U.S. semiconductor company Tenstorrent will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) service in Japan, charging users based on the actual amount of data processed, thereby reducing costs for AI developers and helping to expand the market.  

3. Two core researchers from Google’s large model division have announced the establishment of a company called Reflection AI, aimed at developing superintelligent agents.  

4. SK Keyfoundry has announced the acquisition of a 98.59% stake in silicon carbide manufacturer SK Powertech for 25 billion KRW.  

5. The Japanese government has decided, through a cabinet meeting, to revise the law to allow substantial government investment to support semiconductor startup Rapidus.  

6. Samsung Group plans to hire over 10,000 new employees this year, with public recruitment for the first half of the year starting on March 10.  

China Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Leading global battery and energy storage company CATL has entered the chip market, leading an investment in domestic IC design company Silang Technology.  

2. Foxconn has launched its first large language model and plans to use this technology to improve manufacturing and supply chain management.

4. In response to rumors about ByteDance placing a 1 billion yuan order with Cambrian, ByteDance stated that the information is not true.

6. The Foshan Semiconductor Technology Park project has started construction, with plans to build an 80,000-square-meter facility.
