Global Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Vietnam's first semiconductor manufacturing project has a substantial funding scale, with 30% of the budget supported by the central government, capped at 10 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately $400 million). The total investment is expected to be between $1.2 billion and $1.6 billion.  

2. A Chinese research team has made significant progress in wide bandgap semiconductor optoelectronic detection, successfully developing a gallium oxide blind photodetector with ultra-fast and highly sensitive response.  

3. Mizuho Securities predicts that major AI restrictions are about to be implemented, including a "total ban on all AI chips entering China, affecting products like Nvidia's H20/B20 and some traditional chips (28nm+)."  

4. Apple is developing a highly integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, intended for use in the new Apple TV and HomePod mini.  

5. SLKOR Semiconductor (www.slkoric.com) has been awarded the "2024 Excellent Domestic Brand Enterprise" prize by Huaqiang Electronics Network. General Manager Song Shiqiang and Deputy General Manager He Junju will attend the award ceremony on April 11th!  

6. Trump announced that TSMC plans to invest at least $100 billion in U.S. semiconductor manufacturing plants over the next few years.  

China Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Liposem’s third-generation automotive-grade power semiconductor module project has started, with a total investment of 1 billion RMB. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 3 million automotive-grade SiC modules.  

2. The first chip packaging and testing project in Quanzhou—Quanxin Microelectronics' IC packaging and testing project—is expected to complete partial production line debugging and begin trial production in April this year.  

3. The first phase of the Dehua Semiconductor Headquarters Base Project, covering 30 acres of industrial land, has successfully completed land acquisition. The total investment in the project is 1 billion RMB, with phase one investing 500 million RMB.  

4. Kewichuangxin’s integrated circuit packaging and testing project has commenced, with a total investment of 1 billion RMB.  

5. Youyue Electronics' headquarters project and optoelectronic semiconductor R&D manufacturing base have begun construction, with plans to build an intelligent production workshop, an autonomous vehicle laboratory, and an optoelectronic semiconductor R&D center.  

6. Xiamen Silan Jihong Semiconductor Co., Ltd.’s 8-inch silicon carbide (SiC) power device chip manufacturing production line project has officially topped out, with a total investment of 12 billion RMB.
