Global Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. On March 11, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) will hold a hearing on so-called traditional (legacy) semiconductors made in China to decide whether to impose additional tariffs.

2. The global semiconductor market exceeds $600 billion, with demand from the Chinese market accounting for over 35%.

3. Analysts from Semiconductor Intelligence (SC-IQ) expect the global chip market to grow by 6% in 2025.

4. In 2024, China’s chip exports reached 1.03 trillion yuan, marking the first time they surpassed one trillion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 20.3%.

China Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Shanxi Shuoke Crystal Co., Ltd. has successfully developed a 12-inch (300mm) high-purity semi-insulating silicon carbide (SiC) single crystal substrate, along with the successful development of a 12-inch (300mm) N-type silicon carbide single crystal substrate.

2. The Xinjiang Beitun Zhuorong Heyuan Semiconductor Materials Project, located in the Beitun Economic and Technological Development Zone, has a total investment of 4 billion yuan.

3. Bosch Automotive Electronics China (ME-CN) has officially established a silicon carbide (SiC) power module production base at its fifth factory in Suzhou, with a total investment of approximately 7 billion yuan.

4. Xitai Technology's 12-inch Micro OLED semiconductor microdisplay industrialization project has been launched, with an investment of 4 billion yuan.

5. In 2024, Canxin Co., Ltd. completed 190 wafer-level verification projects, a growth of over 30% compared to the previous year.

6. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Foshan Semiconductor Technology Park was held in Nanhai Shishan, with 10 major projects officially signing contracts to settle in the park. The semiconductor technology park is one of the key projects for the park in the coming year.
