In order to promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the social economy, on November 1st, the 2021 China Mobile Global Partner Conference with the theme of "number is everything, intelligent calculation of the future" kicked off at Guangzhou Poly World Trade Exhibition Center.
Chips are one of the entry points for digital capabilities. During the conference, as a professional chip subsidiary of China Mobile, China Mobile Coresun (Coresun Technology Co., Ltd.) made a grand appearance with China Mobile's first MCU chip based on RISC-V core - CM32M4xxR.
Since the second half of last year, the shortage of chips has become the main theme of the semiconductor industry. At the same time, the fragmented scenario of the Internet of Things also puts forward higher requirements for an open and flexible chip architecture.
In order to promote the high-quality development of the semiconductor industry and focus on the localization of IoT chips, China Mobile Xinsheng focused on the RISC-V core, conducted research and development attempts on a variety of chips, and completed the comprehensive performance evaluation of RISC-V, SoC hardware architecture adaptation, Basic tool chain adaptation and underlying operating system transplantation have formed a product system of "communication chip + security chip + MCU chip".
Compared with the traditional IoT chip architecture, the CM32M4xxR released this time adopts the RISC-V open source architecture, which is China Mobile's first low-power and large-capacity MCU chip based on the RISC-V core. This series of MCUs has the characteristics of high performance, high reliability, high security and low power consumption, and can be widely used in smart door locks, IoT gateways, interactive panels, measurement and control terminals, student education, and consumer electronics related fields.
CM32M4xxR series MCU chip adopts 32bit RISC-V Nuclei N308 core, the highest working frequency is 144MHz, supports floating-point operation and DSP instructions, integrates up to 512KB embedded encrypted Flash, 144KB SRAM, and rich high-performance analog function modules and communication interfaces. Built-in 4 12bit 5Msps ADCs, 4 independent rail-to-rail operational amplifiers, 7 high-speed comparators, 2 1Msps 12bit DACs, and support up to 24-channel capacitive touch buttons. At the same time, it integrates multi-channel U(S)ART, I2C, SPI, QSPI, CAN and other digital communication interfaces, and has a built-in cryptographic algorithm hardware acceleration engine.
The development board based on CM32M4xxR series LQFP128 package, powered by Micro-USB, provides JTAG (Hummingbird) debugging interface and onboard USB serial port, which is convenient for users to use and debug. Through the supporting function expansion board and software SDK, the function verification of each peripheral of the chip can be quickly performed, helping users to evaluate the chip, verify the software and hardware technical solutions, and reduce the development cost of users.
0 3At present, CM32M4xxR samples, development boards, documentation and supporting SDKs are all ready for users to apply. The recruitment of MCU agents has also officially started.
In the future, China Mobile Xinsheng will continue to closely follow the development trend of 5G and the Internet of Things, continue to carry out ecological layout around the RISC-V architecture, and continue to launch more self-developed chip products. We look forward to working with more partners to create a "chip" future. The era of domestic "core"!
