The working principle of a gallium arsenide Hall element is based on the Hall effect. When a charged particle passes through a gallium arsenide crystal, a transverse electric field is generated within the crystal, which is called the Hall electric field. When this crystal is placed in a magnetic field, the Hall electric field is distorted by the magnetic field, resulting in a voltage signal on the surface of the crystal. This voltage signal is directly proportional to the strength and direction of the magnetic field.
