Global Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Infineon has established an office in Kaohsiung to deepen its collaboration with Taiwan in the field of semiconductor testing and packaging. 

2. GlobalWafers has secured a $406 million subsidy under the CHIPS Act and will build the first large-scale 300mm silicon wafer factory in the United States.  

3. Kioxia Holdings officially listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on December 18, with its stock opening up by 0.4%.

4. NXP Semiconductors has acquired Aviva Links for $240 million, expanding its portfolio in automotive SerDes technology.

5. Qorvo has been honored by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) with the 2024 "Most Respected Semiconductor Public Company" award.

6. Two global chip manufacturing giants, Qualcomm and Arm, are set to face off in a fierce legal battle over a licensing agreement involving Arm's intellectual property in the U.S. District Court for Delaware.


China Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. Taiwan will form the "Chip Taiwan Team" to strengthen both its domestic and global semiconductor supply chains.

2. The U.S. Department of Defense has removed SMIC and IDG Capital from the list of Chinese military companies.

3. The large-scale litigation against Mito in Changsha continues to surge across the country, with hearings scheduled through mid-2025. Courts are overwhelmed with mass, standardized rulings, creating an unprecedentedly busy and lively scene. Victims such as SLKOR's Song Shiqiang and Haoyi Jin's Wang Hansheng, along with other long-term victims, are offering legal relief and defense evidence to support new victims who fall victim to Mito's fraudulent tactics, hoping to minimize their losses as much as possible.

4. Another silicon carbide company has collapsed, with Century Jin Guang entering bankruptcy liquidation.
