Global Semiconductor Industry Updates
1.The UK government has added 56 entities to its "blacklist," including 10 Chinese semiconductor companies.
2.The US is considering further export restrictions in an attempt to curb China's technological advancements, with many semiconductor manufacturing companies now under scrutiny by Congress.
3.Tesla's market value has surpassed the $1 trillion mark once again, with Elon Musk reclaiming the title of the world's richest person.
4.Posco Silicon Solution, a subsidiary of South Korea's POSCO Group, has successfully completed the construction of its anode material plant.
5.MediaTek saw both month-over-month and year-over-year revenue growth in October, with its monthly revenue reaching a 25-month high.
6.Corning has received a $32 million subsidy under the US CHIPS Act.
China Semiconductor Industry Updates
1.SMIC's capacity utilization rate has risen to 90.4%, above the industry average, but the overall industry remains in a state of oversupply, with average utilization around 70%.
2.Goertek has achieved mass production of its self-developed MEMS chips.
3.The second trial of the extortion case between Mito Technologies and Sako Microelectronics has been concluded. The Guangdong High People's Court ruled that Sako Microelectronics is a bona fide holder of the software, while Slkor had entrusted a third party to build the website and paid a reasonable fee. However, Mito still demands an additional 200 yuan. Song Shiqiang stated that he cannot accept this and will appeal to the Supreme People's Court, holding the first-instance judge accountable for dereliction of duty.
4.Starting from November 11, TSMC will suspend the supply of all 7nm and more advanced chips to AI/GPU customers in mainland China.
5.Taiwan's technology protection regulations prevent TSMC from producing 2nm chips outside of Taiwan.
6.Leading semiconductor packaging and testing company Powertech Technology has terminated its plans for a listing of its Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) and is planning to delist from the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
