Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, I have embarked on my second summer vacation during my university life. This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Shenzhen SlkorMicro Semicon Co.,Ltd. (www.slkoric.com) for a month. Similar to my internship experience last year, I worked in the marketing department. However, this year’s internship brought me a whole new set of experiences and allowed me to witness the tremendous changes that have taken place at Slkor over the past year. In the following, I will delve into the specific tasks I undertook during my month-long internship at Slkor, as well as what I have learned, contemplated, and discovered.

The headquarters of Shenzhen SlkorMicro Semicon Co., Ltd. is situated in Block A of Bairuida Building, Longgang District, Shenzhen. Its esteemed founder is Mr. Song Shiqiang. The company comprises various departments, including research and development (with offices in Beijing and Suzhou), human resources, foreign trade, marketing, legal and risk control, domestic sales, as well as two direct stores in the huaqiangbei electronics market. I am proud to be a member of the marketing department, where, as conveyed by our esteemed general manager, Mr. Song Shiqiang, I have witnessed the unwavering dedication and exceptional proficiency of my colleagues. Working alongside them, I have acquired invaluable skills in the realm of promotion and advertising. For instance, when placing advertisements or promoting content on multiple platforms, it is crucial to engage in trial and error, as well as comparison. By initially investing a certain amount of capital in platform promotion, we can discern whether or not it yields fruitful results in terms of customer acquisition. If a platform fails to generate substantial customer engagement, it becomes imperative to abandon it and focus our resources on platforms that prove to be more efficient and fruitful. This approach not only prevents wasteful expenditure but also maximizes the effectiveness of our promotional efforts.

The learning atmosphere at Slkor is truly immersive. During my internship at the company over the past month, we have been fortunate to partake in a plethora of meetings, employee training sessions, and expert lectures, including those delivered by esteemed professors from Tsinghua University. Engaging in these gatherings has afforded me the opportunity to acquire a wealth of specialized knowledge in the field of semiconductor products, as well as insights into the realms of international trade and the importance of fostering a strong team spirit.

During this past month, my daily work has revolved around publishing promotional articles and some semiconductor technology content on various platforms. Initially, the viewership of my promotional articles was meager, with only a few dozen views. However, through continuous learning and accumulation at the company, I have seen significant progress. Now, the readership of my promotional articles and advertisements has reached hundreds and even thousands of views. Additionally, my level of creativity on these platforms has also improved. I owe these achievements to the assistance of my colleagues and the writing techniques I learned from reading articles by our General Manager, Mr. Song Shiqiang. As Mr. Song often emphasizes “Only by communicating and learning from experts can we enhance our abilities.”

This is my second internship at Slkor (www.slkoric.com), and I was amazed when I first arrived at the company. In just one year, the company has expanded its scale nearly twofold, from around thirty to nearly a hundred employees. The new office environment is also incredibly comfortable, making work a pleasant experience. It is truly remarkable to witness the rapid progress of the company under the leadership of general manager Song and the hard work of my colleagues at Slkor. What deeply impressed me is the exceptional welfare and care provided to employees, which sets Slkor apart in the semiconductor industry. General Manager Song Shiqiang often emphasizes, “Employees at Slkor should not neglect their family life due to work. Only when employees have a good family life can they concentrate on their work.” Therefore, we never have overtime work. We work diligently during working hours and leave on time to rest and take care of our families, ensuring that we have the energy to prepare for the next day’s work.

Our company organizes team-building activities every week, including basketball and badminton teams. I joined the esteemed “Slkor Warriors” basketball team upon my arrival. Every Friday or Saturday, our captain reserves the court and gathers the participants, leading us to engage in spirited matches. Occasionally, we even arrange friendly matches with other teams in the same industry. Recently, our “Slkor Warriors” had a thrilling exchange with the seasoned veterans of the “Revival Squad”. The game was a roller coaster of emotions, keeping us on the edge of our seats.

In the first half, we underestimated the strength of the Revival Squad’s veterans, resulting in a twelve-point deficit. During halftime, our team leader, Mr. Song, gathered us for a brief meeting. He continuously encouraged us and outlined our overall strategy for the second half: utilizing our physical advantage to apply relentless pressure on defense and capitalizing on our speed in transition to launch counterattacks. This played a crucial role throughout the entire game. As the second half commenced, we adjusted our defensive strategy. With our enthusiasm and physical speed, we embarked on a fourteen-point scoring spree, followed by a steady and methodical approach. In the end, we emerged victorious with a slim five-point lead. Although it was a friendly match, as Mr. Song emphasized, “If we choose to be Slkor, we must strive for excellence. To be a leading team in the industry, we must possess the ability to compete and withstand challenges. We must always maintain a competitive spirit.” Through this match, I learned valuable lessons on how to lead a team to victory and had the opportunity to meet the indomitable entrepreneurs of the Revival Squad, who exemplified the spirit of never giving up. Their resilience is truly inspiring and something I aspire to emulate.

During my internship at Slkor this summer, I gained a fresh understanding of the semiconductor industry. I also acquired valuable knowledge and skills in corporate culture, team dynamics, and specialized areas. The colleagues at the company were incredibly welcoming and provided me with assistance and guidance in both work and personal life. This enabled me to quickly integrate into the Slkor family and forge many meaningful friendships. I am immensely grateful to Mr. Song Shiqiang, the General Manager of Slkor, for granting me this invaluable internship opportunity, where I learned knowledge that cannot be obtained solely from university education. The lessons I have learned at the company will benefit me for a lifetime. In any future endeavor, regardless of the field or location, I will carry the spirit of Slkor and the spirit of the electronic professionals from the Sichuan-Chongqing region, striving diligently and persevering.
